Mamie, generational wealth is what it is all about. We didn’t have it because of our slavery legacy. Its time for it to be corrected. Thanks for sharing your family legacy.

      Hi Shirley,
I hope all is well. Knowing you…I am sure it is.

Yes…now as a people, we have wealth and understand what it means, so we have to use what we need today and pass the rest forward! Most of us are doing it.

      Thanks.

Thanks, Shirley. That experience is one we treasure! How many people get a call from “The President?”

Mamie. I enjoyed reading your article on the fabulous Legends. Fortunately, I’ve had the privilege of having Dinner there several times. It is everything you described, and more. The history, the homes, the food, and the atmosphere is among the best the In any Country. Great Job.❤️

Yes Mamie. We really must keep fighting. Sometimes I get so frustrated when I see the crazies justify every treasonous act they participate in; and seem to get away with. I believe that Trump is a traitor and should be tried for treason. And he should be stripped of his benefits and secret service. Its outrageous.

    Thanks for sharing your story.

You are welcome! Sometimes it seems the innocent is punished and the guilty go free, but there is a “season” for everything. It is
difficult to wait until the “nights of horror” end. One day they will end. . . and we will enjoy the “bright sunshine.” As the song says, “Just you wait and see!”

      Hi Shirley,

I know my people were slaves. But I know some who say their family never was. I need receipts on that. And if not what roll did ur people play in the fight for freedom. Being poor black and at the will of white Jim Crow America was no easy thing don’t care how mean you supposedly were according to family history. That’s family and black community history. Too mean to be slaves or bound by Jim Crow or Black Codes I have a hard time believing Erving was a thing. Not wanting to acknowledge the infringement on ones civil rights is something else. I respect the fact they may want anonymity but don’t deny to your family their true background when it comes to researching where you come from and how you came to be. If you are of African decent you came by way of a ship. It’s a matter of your status when you got here and how your family maintained that status over 400 years of persecution.

Unfolding of a Rose was my introduction to Mamie’s life and grief of losing a daughter. It is a wonderful story. I still have yet to read her second book but working on it.

Congratulations Mamie for keeping your daughter in the spotlight.
