DONATE A BOOK OF PEACE AND LOVE
Gifts are acts of love. Sometimes, most people give a gift of love. Are you one of them? Christmas, birthdays, graduations, weddings, the list can be very long for acts of caring. Often, books are given as gifts. The idea is that books increase knowledge and understanding. “The Unfolding of a Rose” is such a book. It reaches into your heart, massages it and lets you know “everything will be alright.”
Author, Teacher & Talk Show Host Dr. Mamie Smith Says,
“Each human hardship can be overcome . . . with the right tools of life.”
The Unfolding of a Rose is a stirring account of a mother’s love, devotion to her faith, and survival of the unimaginable-losing her daughter, Meta, to breast cancer. Mamie Smith’s narration beautifully explores the emotional territories of the heart put to the ultimate test and her astounding courage to accept God’s plan.
Give this life-changing book to a friend, church, non-profit or cancer organization.
META’S YOUNG CHILDREN
Meta passed away at the age of forty-five. She left a seventeen-year-old son and a daughter twenty years old. The book highlights the problems, challenges and sadness that gripped a mother and grandmother trying to “pick-up the pieces” and move on. Her children were moving into the world of adulthood and needed the support and care that a mother gives.
THEY BECAME ADULTS WITHOUT HER . . .
Rahjinah Raphael
They became responsible adults, worked in the store their mom left behind, went to college and fought the hurtful sense of loss. Sometimes they did it with courage and responsibility . . . sometimes veering off the pathway. Meta Mom had planted the seeds of what it means to be a positive impact on themselves and society, they found the way back.
A GRANDSON AND GRANDDAUGHTER SHE NEVER SAW . . .
Meta never saw her two beautiful grandchildren. They were born many years after her death. “The Unfolding of a Rose” will introduce them to their grandmother through words of love. You can share that introduction . . . maybe pass it along to another child or grandchild. So . . . give a gift of love.

Unfolding of a Rose was my introduction to Mamie’s life and grief of losing a daughter. It is a wonderful story. I still have yet to read her second book but working on it.
Congratulations Mamie for keeping your daughter in the spotlight.
